I have a horizontal deep crease running across my stomach after Lipo. It's hard above & below the crease. What can I do? (Photo)

You were never a great candidate for liposuction alone and should have gotten a tummy tuck/skin surgery for improvement.  any liposuction could be done at the same time as the tummy tuck or after, but at this point now you have looseness that needs to be treated with surgery.  Please see an expert for an evaluation.  Best, Dr. Emer.

From the photograph it looks as though there is a surplus of skin on the abdomen. The only way to treat this would be for surgical removal that is an abdominoplasty.

Thanks for sharing your pic - it's helpful in answering your question. As the others have stated, it is likely due to compression binder and/or natural sitting position that creates that crease due to the skin being separated from the abdominal wall that liposuction causes. I recommend discontinuing the band, try to lay as flat as possible and massage across that crease as aggressively as possible so a permanent scar band doesn't form.

It's far too early to worry but make sure that your compression isn't the cause. It could simply be due to the way you sit. Massage the area and wear compression. 

What type of band are you wearing? The crease may be due to that. Remember you will be swollen and there will be contour irregularities that will smooth out with time. I prefer my patients wear a compression garment (instead of a band) since this helps distribute the compression evenly and helps reduce the swelling. Best to check in with your operating surgeon to discuss your concerns. Good luck!

Thank you for your question and photos.  Liposuction by itself only decreases the fat layer.  When you decrease the fat layer and already have loose skin and do not have good quality skin you run the risk of skin laxity (looser skin).  The only way to treat loose skin is to cut it out.  You would benefit from a tummy tuck from what I see in the current photos.  At this moment you are only 9days post op.  Give it time for the edema to go down and re-discuss your concerns with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon at your next follow up and if further surgery is needed wait 6months. 

Thank you for your question and photos.  It could be from swelling and bruising.  It is important that your band/compression garment is laying flat and not making any creases in the skin.  Re-position the skin to lay smooth after putting on the band.  I would recommend that you follow up with your physician as they may want to start some light massage or adjust your garment.  Best wishes

Dear Mendy,First know that you are still very swollen, and the firmness is a result of that. The crease in your photo may be where your body naturally folds when you sit, and this could be adding to the swelling above it. You also need to make sure your garment is not hitting or folding too much in this area. Your surgeon may recommend massage or some other treatments to help reduce the swelling so a follow up would be beneficial.
