Thanks for your question.What you are experiencing is totally normal. The burning sensation are the nerves most commonly of your sides and back awakening and healing. The pain may last several weeks to months depending on the patient and age (older patients 40+ experienced a prolonged burning sensation). It always goes away with time. Rarely do pain medications relieve the pain. Some of my patients rub/massage the areas and use lotion or even Biofreeze or icyhot over the counter remedies.Best of luck and hope it resolves quickly.Dr. T
