Proper injection technique for Voluma requires that it be injected deeply into the skin, just above the bone. The needle doesn’t actually go into your cheekbone, however. Voluma in the cheekbones provides a nice lift to your face. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who’s an expert with Voluma.
Voluma is a deep filler, and in general, though I like it very much as a tool, I don't think any filler really "lifts" tissues. It gives the three dimensional visual apperance of contour having been lifted. I suggest you speak with a good, honest plastic surgeon about your options, rather than try to micro-manage which layer Voluma is used in.
When injecting Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft, the optimal technique is to place the filler in using depot injections on the bone. This gives the most lift and structural support to the cheeks. Other fillers such as Restylane Defyne could be used more superficial if need be but this is an area that the injections should usually be limited to periosteal (on top of bone) placement.
Voluma is a very thick gel from the Juvederm family. Voluma has the ability to increase volume, but it has a very specific injection technique. It needs to be deposited in very tiny amounts just over the bone area otherwise it will create noticeable lumps and will not provide good esthetic results.
Hi @tonyadupree! You can gently apply ice to help with swelling and discomfort after filler injections. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Hi BLiftTransfer,I would recommend against doing Voluma the day before your surgery. Typically, I tell patients to allow 2 weeks before considering the filler "settled." It may take less time than that, but I feel it is better to err on the safe side. So I would consider either doing your Voluma...
Hi @mimihirsch! Swelling and bruising after dermal fillers can occur. You can apply ice and cold compresses to the area. If you do experience increased pain or new symptoms, I would recommend contacting your injector. If you are unhappy with the results after 2 weeks, you can dissolve the...
From your photo it looks like you would have the most impact from some Voluma in your cheeks. That would return the youthful curve to your cheeks which is very rejuvenating. Possibly a small amount of the filler could also be placed in your tear troughs under your eyes. This would give you ...
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately delayed swelling can occur with fillers and often once it occurs it does not go away without being completely dissolved. Make sure you seek care with your injector or a physician with experience in this field. They should assess for potential infection...
Great question. The answer is that most of those devices do not melt fillers, but some can and it depends on where the filler was placed. Filler placed in many areas like the cheeks is deep to the skin (against the bone) and will not be affected at all. But filler placed within the skin...
