Thanks for the question. Eyelid surgery is typically done under local anesthesia with or without IV sedation. Usually patients feel little to no discomfort, but will feel touching and pressure at times.

If your doctor has given you some oral medications to use, then you should use them as directed.

The needles are small. We usually put numbing cream on strategic places that make even the anesthetic injection unfelt.

The local anesthesia is wonderful.
