It depends on how much work needs to be done in your surgery.  If it is a small revision of a tummy tuck and simply a skin removal it should be ok.  However, if there is a large area that needs to be removed and muscle repair that is probably best done with some sedation or general anesthesia

If the area is small then this should be manageable with local anesthesia.  If this is a larger area of excision then more sedation and anesthesia may be appropriate.  I would discuss these issues with your PS and they can help guide your best course of action

Would the procedure be a revision of a previous tummy tuck? If that is the case, it should practically be little more than a scar revision, and pretty safe to do under local. A couple of pictures would have been helpful, though.

From your question, it seems like you are getting scar revision.In-office procedure (scar revision) is very safe with minimal risk when performed by experienced plastic surgeon.The cost of any procedure is dependent on your plastic surgeon and extent of surgery.Since this is your revision surgery, you should ask your plastic surgeon about his/her financial policy.Best regards.

post. Removal of excess skin following abdominoplasty
or even enhancement liposuction of residual fat above the scar is not
uncommon. When it is skin and soft
tissue local anesthesia works very nicely and the risks that ensue following
such a procedure are the standard risks of any skin operation. The standard risks would include delayed
healing, abnormal scar formation, small skin infection, fluid collection called
a seroma and other minor local wound healing risks that generally cannot be
managed conservatively.

In general, the benefits of a small
enhancement skin excision or liposuction following a tummy tuck far outweigh
the small risks and it can be safely done under local anesthesia. Tightening of the muscles are called muscle
plication generally needs to be performed under general anesthetic or IV
sedation, but the soft tissue procedures are recommended by your physician are
very safe when performed under local anesthesia.
