Hi 422905, It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding your concern. Generally, you can put your nipple piercings back after your breast augmentation surgery considering that you are healing well and there are no complications or infection. Its not a problem to put your nipple rings back in a few weeks after surgery as long as there are no issues with your healing. Your surgeon will clear you when its safe. Hope that helps!
Hello, good question. Typically I will have patients remove the rings pre-op and you can replace them with plastic rings if they are concerned about the hole closing. You can put the rings back in right after surgery
422905. My personal policy with regard to nipple rings is remove them right before surgery because there can affect on the electrocautery device used during the operation because they are metal. Sometimes I will put in plastic spacers during the operation if needed. Right after the surgery, in the recovery room, my nurse then reinserts the nipple rings. Discuss your concerns with your board-certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck.
Assuming there isn’t an inordinate amount of swelling, I commonly replace nipple rings at the very end of the case. Obviously check with your surgeon about his or her preference, but it generally can be done.Hope this helps! Sam Jejurikar, MD
Hi. Nipple rings an be replaced at the time of surgery. Things to consider is degree of swelling (increased with big changes in volume), and potential infection (location of incisions around the areolae may be an issue). Talk to your PS about your specific surgery-he/she may be willing to replace them at the conclusion of your case. Good luck!
Nipple rings are usually mandated to be removed before surgery for safety purposes. However, reinsertion of nipple rings after surgery is not a problem at all, for as long as you have healed well enough and without complications. Spacers may be placed during healing time to prevent your hole from closing and a topical antibiotic should be initially applied to prevent infection. However, your best resource of information would be your surgeon, which might have a different protocol.
Thank you for the question. Nipple rings should be removed during surgery (for many reasons). I place a temporary sterile spacer in the nipple piercing, after the procedure is performed, to prevent closure of the piercing. Discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon prior to proceeding. Best wishes.
Hi thank you for your question. I would advise they are removed before and for the surgical procedure but once you have healed I would not foresee a problem with them being reinserted. It might be advisable to put a temporary spacer in after the surgery to maintain the hole. If you are having new piercings placed after your augmentation I would recommend antibiotic cover for 24hrs to protect your breast implants. You can discuss this with your surgeon however as they might have a different policy.Best wishes.
Hello and thank you for your question. Yes, you can put them back in after surgery, or you can use plastic nipple rings and keep them in during surgery. Confirm with your Plastic Surgeon.
With your skin laxity and depending on your expectations, do not be surprised if a mastopexy or breast lift if also recommended. This will impact your ability to breast feed so you must be okay with that before jumping in feet first. As for sizing, I like external sizers as they have proven t...

It would be difficult to determine which shape and size would be best for you without an in-person examination. Your best course of action is to schedule an appointment with a board-certified plastic surgeon. The shape and type of implants depend on factors like chest wall measurement, tissue...
