Hello, I got nose filler (done around August but I'm thinking of getting a rhinoplasty but I've heard that getting a nose job after nose filler is dangerous because of the angular vein. I'm thinking of getting my rhinoplasty in May. Will I need to get the filler dissolved? Even if the filler is dissolved is it safe? I'm just worried that I've ruined my chances of getting a safe rhinoplasty. Thank you so much

Answer: Safe You should definitely get the filler dissolved before considering surgical rhinoplasty. This happens pretty quickly, but the longer you wait after its dissolved, the better the chances all the filler is gone. The surgeon will need to get an accurate assessment of the nose without the filler to make the correct surgical changes. With that being said, there should be no contraindication for surgery after filler. This is performed all the time. Filler is often used as a “test run” for patients considering surgery.

Answer: Nose filler Thank you for your question. Fillers in the nose are increasingly more common. There definitely have been instances of necrosis associated with previous filler. These are extremely uncommon. I have performed rhinoplasty safely on many patients who have had previous filler. Filler has been in place for over 4 months it most likely has completely dissipated and safe to have surgery. Best wishes to you.
