Is it possible to have a rhinoplasty targeting side profile w/o altering tip? Looking for a subtle and natural result. (photos)

Hi everyone, I would like to improve my side profile. I don't like how my nose looks from the side. I do not want to change the tip of my nose because I like how it suits my face. I also think my nose looks alright from the front, just not the side. Is it possible to only change the side profile of the nose and leave the tip alone? I prefer a subtle natural result. What would be the price range of this rhinoplasty?

This would likely involve shaving down the dorsal hump slightly to provide balanced, natural-looking results. Keep in mind that rhinoplasty is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring experience, skill, and even artistry to achieve an optimal outcome.

Hello,
The side profile of your nose can be improved with preservation rhinoplasty surgical procedure. The nose can be de-projected, and the hump on the bridge of nose can be removed. The tip of your nose is a bit wide and can be refined if you wish in the same procedure. It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon to discuss how your nose might look after surgery.

In general, the answer is no. When we lower a profile bump from the top to the bottom, ligaments from your bridge to your tip will become severed. If nothing is done to your nasal tip, it may droop after bridge-only surgery. Great question, and it's asked a lot. Dr Joseph

Lowering the bridge only is certainly possible. You will still need the bones broken. Closed rhinoplasty is ideal in a situation where you don’t want to do anything to the tip

Profile contouring verse full rhinoplasty: it is always theoretically possible to contour the profile without changing the front view very much. Most people who undergo rhinoplasty have most of their change in the profile. You have a small dorsal hump which could easily be trimmed. However when the dorsal hub is trimmed The nasal bones have to be moved inward to close the “open roof“ left by trimming the dorsal hump. this narrows the bridge. You have a slightly bulbous nasal tip which isn’t so obvious on your current nose but would stand in contrast to a thinner bridge if you should have the dorsal hump removed and not address the tip. so I don’t know if there would be many plastic surgeons who would want to address your bridge without addressing the tip

A closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish shaving down the dorsal hump. The  incisions are placed on the inside of your nose. Once the Hump has been removed, osteotomy's are required to close the open roof created from the hump removal itself. Very little, if anything needs to be done to the tip of your nose. The simple answer is yes.
The areas of your nose that concern you can be realistically improved with an artistically performed rhinoplasty.

Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do based on two dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best surgery. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon certified by the American Board of American Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.

From your photos, I note a high nasal bridge with a minimal hump deformity. The nasal tip is somewhat rounded and amorphous. 
One can perform a rhinoplasty without altering the nasal tip. The bridge can be lowered to create a gentle feminine curve.
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.
