Will lipo give me a nicer stomach? (Photo)

Question

I’m 28, 5’5 and workout 5 days a week. I have one child. I want to fix my stomach but don’t want the scar that comes with a tummy tuck or mini tuck. Will liposuction on the abdomen give me a nice flat stomach or will it make things worse? I had cool sculpting 3 years ago.

You would benefit from liposuction of your upper abdomen, lower abdomen, and waist. You do have some lower skin laxity which could be removed with a mini tummy tuck. However this will leave you with a scar that you were trying to avoid. You could try the liposuction first and not burn any bridges. Later if the skin looks like it still needs to be removed then you can always remove that later.

Thanks for your question. What can be seen from the photos is that you are a good candidate for Vaser Liposuction. You can actually get good results by High Definition. Also your skin elasticity look good but Vaser Liposuction can also tighten the skin. I'd advise to have a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. Liposuction will help contour and flatten your abdomen.   Liposuction will not make your skin tight, however and so while it may reduce the bulge it will not make your tummy as flat and tight as it once may have been.
If this is acceptable to you, then liposuction may be a very good procedure for you as it will avoid the scar that a tummy tuck leaves.
At a consultation a surgeon will examine you including your skin laxity to determine for certain whether liposuction will meet your goals.

You appear to be a good candidate for liposuction of the abdomen.  A physical exam would answer if the lower abdominal skin would have any wrinkling post procedure, but I doubt this would occur.  You may want to add lipo 360 to give you a slimmer waist line as well.

Liposuction removes excess fat. You have minimal fat. The problem you demonstrate in your photos is loose skin which has been stretched from pregnancy. Liposuction will not help and possibly make it worse. Your abdomen looks fantastic, do not let anyone touch it with liposuction. Continue your exercise and watch your diet, and be happy with your appearance.

There are four variables that contributes to the shape and contour of someone’s abdomen.

These are skin laxity, excess subcutaneous fat, muscle separation from previous pregnancies called diastases recti and lastly excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat.

Pregnancy related changes are typically skin laxity and muscle separation.

Reducing subcutaneous fat via liposuction can improve the shape and contour but it only addresses fat and pregnancy does not cause changes in fat distribution.

I don’t think you need a tummy tuck and the unnatural belly button and scar probably isn’t worth it.

You simply need to recognize that liposuction isn’t treating skin laxity and muscle separation and most likely those are the variables that are keeping you from getting the abdomen you had pre-pregnancy.

Liposuction results vary substantially purely based on who does the procedure.

Delivering consistent high-quality Liposuction results is more difficult than people believe.

It is absolutely paramount patients find the most experienced and talented provider for this procedure in order to get a quality assessment and minimize the chance of having permanent disfigurement.

Find the right plastic surgeon and everything falls into place.

I recommend multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have an excellent online reputation.

Avoid providers with any significant number of justified negative reviews and various physician review websites.

To me this is more important than those who have an abundance of positive reviews.
