I am having a minor breast lift in September and i was wondering if i may wear a "strapless bra / normal bra" for 1 evening out (4-5 hours) 1.5 weeks after my surgery? There is a wedding i am attending and the dress i bought wont allow for a compression bra. I plan on wearing the compression bra every single minute of everyday post-op besides that one evening. Will this really affect my results? Any major concerns? My breasts will be very petite after the surgery (A cup).
Answer: Surgery It would be best for you to ask your surgeon this question. Not knowing what you will be having done, I would say wear a different dress.

Answer: Compression This question is best answered by your surgeon who is most familiar with the details of your surgery. If possible, bring along the bra that you are wanting to wear for the wedding. You may be able to find a good compromise to the surgical compression that works with your dress for the event.

Answer: Wearing a Regular bra for 5-4 hrs Hello, thanks for the question. I do advise my patients to be in a tight compression sports bra for the first 6 weeks. As long as you are following your activity restrictions, I do not think that wearing a regular bra for 4-5 hrs will 'ruin' anything. It may be very uncomfortable on incision lines though.

Answer: Could wearing a normal bra for 1 evening 1.5 weeks after surgery affect my results? Hello @lisa penfold, Thank you for your question. Wearing proper post surgical compression is crucial for your healing process, especially how the scar will evolve. Remember that the patient determines the final result of her scar. The healing process of the scar is multifactorial. Scar healing depends on the postoperative care, genetics, and daily movements of the patient. Wearing the compression bra will help to minimize swelling, support healing tissues, and decrease tension on the incision. Talk to the specialist who performed your surgery. They understand the specifics of the procedure they conducted, the techniques they used, and how you're healing. It's essential to consult with your surgeon regarding any post-operative care decisions, including the type of bra to wear and how long you should wear it. For more information and recommendations, consult with one or several board certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.
