Breast lift no implants - will results last?

A well done breast lift should last. Gravity will have some effect over time. You might consider a mesh like Galaflex or Durasorb to increase the longevity of your result.

Thanks for your question. Given what you have described, it is unlikely that you will be satisfied with an only a lift. A breast lift without implants will change the shape of your breast, and sometimes It may be possible to achieve some improved upper pole fullness if an 'autoaugmentation' technique can be used, but your overall breast volume cannot be increased using this technique. Added volume can be achieved with a breast implant or fat transfer. You should discuss your specific goals in a face to face consultation with a plastic surgeon.

Achieving excellent results with a lift certainly depends on your goals. A lift can reliably move your existing breast tissue centrally, while moving the nipple vertically and removing skin excess. You mentioned a lack of upper pole fullness, and a lift will not reliably add upper pole fullness on a long-term basis. This can only be achieved with an implant. I would suggest explicitly discussing your goals with your surgeon prior to surgery.

Hi from Istanbul, thanks for this question. Achieving satisfactory results with just a breast lift largely depends on the existing breast tissue's volume and quality. For someone with a B/C cup, it's possible to attain pleasing results if the breast tissue is sufficiently firm. However, remember that implants typically provide superior upper pole fullness compared to natural breast tissue. Another option to consider fat grafting for the breasts, which can enhance fullness without implants. Wishing you all the best as you make your decision!

All surgical results are permanent changes and therefore last forever. The real question is will you be satisfied with only a lift or are you best approached with a lift and an implant or fat transfer. The only way to give an opinion in your situation is to see photos at a minimum. A virtual on in-person consultation is the best. But lets pretend you have excess volume in the lower part of the breast. During the lift, this excess tissue can be repositioned as an autoaugmentation to fill in the mid and part of the upper pole of the breast. Not everybody has enough excess volume to make this satisfying enough. The most powerful upper pole volume enhancement would come from a breast implant. If your goal is to reshape your breasts to make them perkier, then a breast lift alone would be suitable for you. However, if you’d like significantly rounder breasts and increase your size as well, then implants would be recommended. Wish pics can help better show the results you’d like to achieve.

my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity.

Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs. However, the technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

Thank you for your question! In general, if your breasts are sagging and you want a perkier, more lifted appearance, a breast lift is a good option. During a breast lift, your surgeon will remove excess skin, reposition the nipple, and re-drape and tighten the remaining skin to support the breast. If you want more volume, you may benefit from a fat transfer, where your own fat is removed from another part of your body (like your hips, tummy, of thighs) and specially prepared and placed into your breasts without the need for artificial implants. The great thing about these techniques is that they can now be done with minimal scarring and performed as an outpatient procedure without the need for general anesthesia.
