Excellent question! Most patients do qualify for a BBL as long as they understand that some BBLs can be dramatic and others can be subtle. So, even though some patients may not have enough fat for the results they want, I still feel most patients have enough fat for good results. This means that the size and shape of the butt will improve on most women after a BBL. The waist and other areas will get smaller with lipo, so the hips to waist ratio will improve regardless of butt size. Plus, 360 Lipo with BBL reshapes the entire torso, this in turn enhances the patient’s silhouette! On smaller petite patients, gaining weight before surgery may be necessary as long as they keep the weight after. A BBL result will change due to weight fluctuations. Sometimes gaining a little bit of weight after surgery actually enhances results so do not stress if you feel you might need more fat. Weight gain after lipo BBL happens mostly in places where there is more fat. Basically, your fat cells will increase in size wherever you have more fat. This is good news for most patients in your situation because after a BBL most of the fat will already be in your butt. Best of luck, Dr. Miguel Mota
