Based in your description is possible you can benefit from liposuction of the chin. This is a physiologically trivial procedure the can be performed under local anesthesia.

The answer to your question is: absolutely!Chin liposuction (also called submental liposuction) can be a very minimally invasive procedure to remove target amounts of fat collection. I use a 3mm suction cannula (about the size of the inside of a ball point pen) to target areas as precisely as possible. For the right candidate, the change can be subtle but real!

Yes, liposuction is beneficial even if only a very small amount of fat is present, however, you can also consider Coolsculpting or Belkyra if there is only a small amount of fat present.

For a minor amount of fat under the chin on the upper neck when the skin is reasonably tight and not hanging, liposuction is a great option.This is called "Submental Liposuction". Often this must be combined with a chin advancement, chin implant, or chin filler injection, as a weak or recessed chin is often a part of this. If the skin loose then a necktie or facelift would be necessary. For you out doesn't sound like that is the case.

It is difficult to answer your question without pictures, however, in general you may be either a candidate for laser liposuction (SmartLipo) or ThermiTight in this area, both can be performed under local anesthesia. There are 2 locations of fatty deposits in the neck, and these are sub-mental fatty deposits and sub- platysmal fatty deposits.  Liposuction in the neck will only address the sub mental fat. A neck lift with a platysma plasty is required to remove the sub-platysmal fat. Without any pictures, it's impossible to give any opinion on what procedure may be required. Anticipate 2 weeks of some degree of bruising and swelling after any type of surgical procedure in the neck

Removal of fat from under the chin can definitely be
performed even in the amount of fat appears to be small. The most important part of modern liposuction
is to ensure that it is performed with the technology that facilitates
contraction of the soft tissue, as well as reduction of the fat. Skin and soft tissue contraction and
tightening at the time of sub mental liposuction is critically important as the
neck can be somewhat lax as one ages and in removing the fat you may actually
make the neck look older.
