I am in my 60's and have hated my chin/neck my entire life! What can be done for the aging face with this problem of the short lower jaw, fat neck and double chin?? Also, of course, gravity has taken its toll and I now have jowls and my lips are turned downwards . What can be done for my down-turned smile and jowls?

Answer: Necklift Thank you for your questions. Without photos it is difficult to truly make an assessment but there are options to be considered such as submental liposuction with a necklift and/or facelift. The best advice is to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns and questions regarding the overall desired look you wish to achieve.Best regards,Dr. Lane F. Answer: What procedures are available for "older" people with double chins and neck fat? For people in their 60s minimally invasive options are most often ineffective. For sagging in the lower face, jawline, neck a lower face and necklift is the gold standard procedure to lift, tighten and rejuvenate. If you have a "short jaw" or small chin this can often be combined with chin augmentation to further enhance the neckline and facial profile. Please seek a consultation with a facial surgery expert for specific advice. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Options for Double Chin and Neck age 60's The series of concerns you describe combined with a short lower jaw would be best addressed with a facelift or potentially a facelift/ chin implant combination. Although minimally invasive options like Ultherapy can be pursued, you are likely to be underwhelmed with the results. It's best to see a few Facial Plastic Surgeons in consultation and choose based on what makes sense to you and the quality of work/ demeanor of the Surgeon.
