Thanks for your question. At 2 months post-operation, you should be fine to do abdominal exercises but be sure to listen to your body. A small amount of discomfort is normal, but any degree more than that you should be cautious. Always communicate with your surgeon for his/her post-operative protocol. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
You should ask your surgeon for his or her specific instructions for you, but in general I instruct my patients they may begin sit-ups and crunches 6 weeks after surgery, and to ease into their former level of activity. If patients notice pain when starting, I instruct them to back off a bit and take it slowly. At 8 weeks the repair is pretty strong. There are different techniques of repair, so you want to ask your actual surgeon this question as well just to be safe.
In my own practice I permit patients to begin exercises that target the abdominal wall at six weeks increasing to full activity at three months. The repair at eight weeks is extremely strong and would be almost impossible to disrupt by physical activity.
Thank you for your question. Always speak with your operative surgeon as they are best able to tell you about any physical restrictions during the postoperative healing phase. In most cases, at 8 weeks following repair, you should be able to start resuming your prior activity level. One excellent clinical sign is if a particular exercise is causing you pain, it is not yet time to attempt it.
Most patients are able to return to all normal physical activity by 6 weeks post op. This varies from patient to patient and the amount of healing. Please consult with your plastic surgeon for specific advice.
After two months the repair should be able to withstand any exercise. There may be some discomfort with exercise but it should not cause any damage to the repair.
Thank you for your question. Assuming you have not had any wound healing difficulties, most patients can start to resume their prior activity level by 6-8 weeks after surgery. I strongly recommend you speak with your surgeon about the activities you are looking to perform so that they can...
It is not uncommon to develope skin loss and underlying fatty tissue necrosis with a complex scar revision and tummy tuck. The black tissue and fat necrosis needs to be cleaned up in the office and continue your wet to dry dressing changes. it will heal in but will be many weeks.
Hello Hope. Yes, the drain is at risk of pulling out - now that the suture holding it in place is not longer functioning. However, if you're careful it should not fall out - unless it is pulled with significant force. If still concerned call your PS. Best, Dr. ALDO
Based on your photos alone it appears as though your belly button is at a reasonably appropriate level. The excess skin above may just be swelling, which when it resolves will take some weight off the umbilical area and may allow it to come up a millimetre or two. Of course, without examining...
So increased swelling that is above the incision with a fluid wave when lying down. This can mean that there is undrained fluid. Usually this is straight forward and requires aspiration in an area that is numb. Infection can occur but is more rare and is usually at the 2 week period.
Hello and thanks. Your plastic surgeon's office should be able to give you orders for the lab and other instructions. You don't need a primary unless additional tests like EKG, etc.. are needed. Best wishes,. Dr. ALDO
