I had Juvederm Ultra injected in my marionette lines 6 days ago. I’m shocked that I have raised lumpy lines running down both sides of my mouth. I also have intentions in each side of my upper lip. Although I did not have my lips done. I have been expecting this to calm down or settle, but each day it looks exactly the same. Is this normal? Will it settle within a 2 week period. I’m so self conscious of the way I look now that I’ve cancelled many plans in the last 6 days.

Typically, this settles after several days. It is common for the filler to settle over time and gentle massage of the area often improves contour and smoothness over the next few weeks. Fillers usually last for about a year or so. There are some agents that can break down the filler relatively quickly, if desired I would follow-up with our injector and discuss your concerns. If the appearance at this time is so disconcerting and time and massage has not improved the result, consideration for the agent to break down the filler is reasonable. Best wishes!

Since it's only been 6 days, I suggest waiting a full two weeks and then contacting your injector if the lumpiness has not resolved. If needed, he or she can dissolve the filler or reinject for a more symmetrical appearance.
