Anything I can do to make implants drop faster? (photo)

five days post-op, it is much too early to make any determination about your
surgical results. I recommended that you
schedule an appointment with the plastic surgeon that performed your breast
augmentation, at which time you can fully discuss your concerns. Meanwhile, the band you are wearing is
probably the most effective way to assist the implants with settling on your
chest.

Thanks for your inquiry.  You are early in your recovery, do not add any massage without discussing with your surgeon.  Good Luck.

It appears that you are already wearing a chest strap, which will often help speed the process.  I'd recommend following your surgeon's advice, since they presumably have postop care instructions that work well in their experience.

It is great that you had the procedure, but it is really early still. Relax and trust your surgeon. He is the best person to ask about this concern because the surgeon is the only one who was there and knows exactly what was done. In general, it is not uncommon to take several weeks for the implants to settle. I prefer patients massage but obviously your surgeon does not and many agree with him. I suggest calling the office and ask. I see that you have tapes in place still so it is too early to be worried.

You have to trust your PS guidance... but in general, It can take several weeks with our without massage for the implants to fall into place. I prefer massage to displace the implants inferirorly only. Time is the biggest factor as the implants will fall with or without massage for the most part. Trust your surgeon. Patience is key. 

5 days after a breast augmentation is still very early!You won't see your final results for a few months. We usually provide our breast augmentation patients with a "pec strap" that is worn around the chest, and it may help provide some pressure on the implants to persuade them to "drop."  BUT, whether they work very well, is debatable!  What works best is time!Try to be patient and with time swelling will resolve, your pectoralis muscles will relax, and your implants will settle into place. Definitely discuss with your surgeon at your next appointment and he/she will be able to reassure you. Thanks for sharing!

At five days it is way too early to be worried. Each surgeon also has different post-op instructions.  Best to touch base with him.

Hello lark1004Congratulations on deciding to proceed with breast augmentation.  Five days post op is very early.  Different patients take variable amount of time for implants to soften, drop and look natural.  Using a breast band as you are will can help push the implants down so the tissues will stretch to accommodate them.  I do suggest breast massage with smooth walled implants, but it is best to consult with your own surgeon as to what post operative routines he finds works best with his patients. The term is patience! Allow the muscle and your body to accept the new implants, which takes time.......

I see nothing alarming in the posted photos.  It is not realistic to expect to see improvement in the implant position this early, and every patient will heal at her own pace. Patience. Allow at least three months. And follow your own surgeon's advice. Collecting advice from surgeons who have never seen you is ill-advised. It looks like your surgeon has you in a pectoral strap, which is what many of us suggest. All the best.
