Would 575cc be to large for me? I really want to go to a DD and I believe my frame would hold it nicely! (photos)

It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your breast will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. To illustrate; a 100 cc difference may make a significant difference with a narrow base width breast, but much less of a difference if you have a wide chest wall and wide breast “foot print”. Therefore, just because your friend may have a great result with let’s say a 350 cc implant to make her go from a “A” cup to a “C” cup size does not mean that you will have the same result with the same size implant. . Further simply placing implants in a bra to determine the size best for you is not always accurate as the bra often distorts the size, is dependent on the pressure the bra places plus the implant is outside your breast and not under it among other variables. Computer software morphing programs that automatically determine the best implant size can be helpful in some but not all cases (e.g. doesn’t work well in my experience with existing implants, sagging or asymmetric breasts). To determine the implant size that best provides
your desired look, I would recommend making a consultation appointment with a
Board Certified plastic surgeon. At this
time, he/she will perform a physical examination. You will have a chance to try on various size
silicone and saline implant sizers, as well.
This will allow you to assess how each implant volume will look on your
body frame, and determine how their weight feels on your chest. With the help of your surgeon, the right size
implant for your situation can be determined. 

A word of caution when choosing large implants. The larger they are, the less likely they can be placed under the muscle. Muscle provides support, but it can be stretched out over time. Please avoid placement over the muscle as there is nothing but skin to hold implants in place. Implants look great the first few years. However, they do take a toll on your body. 575cc are large. That is extra weight on your back, neck and shoulders, which can cause chronic pain and place tension on your sensory nerves to your areola/nipple complex causing nipple numbness. Remember, the larger the implant, the sooner you will need a lift. I believe it is crucial for women to know and understand what they are getting themselves into when choosing large implants. I have women bring in a sports bra and "try on" breast implants to get a ballpark figure of what size implant to use.  This isn't a direct 1:1 correlation because the implant volume displacement is different under tissue than sports bra and tends to look smaller once inside the body.  However, I find it more accurate than computer imaging.  575 is big.  Period.  That will certainly get you in DD range.  Big implants can also mean big problems down the road so be sure to discuss this with a board certified plastic surgeon.

The key is to work with a Board Certified plastic surgeon with expertise and experience in breast augmentation.

There is an ideal shoe size for your foot. Too small and your foot will be crammed and too large and your foot will not fill the shoe. The same thing is true with breasts: too large and it will look round and fake; too small and it will be loose and empty on the top.

The common denominator to the most beautiful breasts is that they were sized objectively on the basis of measurements. We combine a proven formula based on measurements of the rests and chest along with through discussions of patient's desires. Photos of ideal breasts and results from patients with similar breasts are often very helpful in the discussion. A rice test in the office or at home can also be very helpful.

To be honest, this does sound a little large. I think the best way for you to get an accurate idea of what you are letting yourself is to consultation with a fully qualified plastic surgeon and, ideally, one has access to a 3-D imaging system that can measure you think an accurate simulation of what 575cc will achieve. The best way to determine what size is right for you is to gather some photos and bring them to your consultation. It is difficult to determine from photos what the "right size" for someone would be, and surgeons often order a range of sizes for patients during surgery to determine which one best meets your goals. Be sure to seek out a Board Certified plastic surgeon to talk about this. 

Hi  Breeves312.Implant sizes are really volume of fluid that the implants hold.  The only way the volume changes is by either altering the diameter or the projection of the implant.  For the most part, it is the diameter that changes the most with size change.  Additionally, it is most important that the diameter that "fits" the chest wall optimally.That said, it seems to me that 575 cc implants would have an overly large diameter for your chest.  This means that you will have crowded cleavage and/or too much "side boob".  Additionally, the top of the implant will be high up on the chest wall.You may also want to consider high profile which will give you a lot of fullness with less diameter.Hope this helps.sek
