Thanks for the question. After a mommy makeover surgery you can take a shower after 3 days. I wish you all the best.
I think 2 to 3 weeks is a good estimate. Most surgeons will be more cautious, and lean towards 3 weeks to a month--it all depends on your healing.Enjoy!
3 weeks should be enough to wait. However, please check with your surgeon before proceeding. He or she may have specific recommendations based on your situation.
The specific recommendation should come from your own surgeon. However once all of the incisions are totally sealed and there is no further drainage it should be safe to sit in the hot tub. This will be at least 2 to 3 weeks.
We typically like to have all incisions well-healed prior to getting in a hot tub, or soak the incisions in any type of water. We'll allow patients to shower usually within a couple of days of the surgery, but just wanted them to submerge and water. Hope this answers your question for review.
If your recovery process is uneventful, you should be safe to use a hot tub about 1-2 months after surgery. You should be cleared by your surgeon to do so however. Hot tubs are notorious for harboring bacteria, especially pseudomonas, and any unhealed wounds could be susceptible to developing an infection in the hot tub environment.
You should ask your surgeon for their advice as it may be different, however I recommend you wait for at least one month after your surgery.
I ask my patients to wait one month as long as their incisions are closed and they are doing well in recovery before going into any body of water, especially jacuzzis because of the high bacteria content. After all that hard work, I wouldn't want anyone to risk infection and cause a set back in recovery. ac
As long as your incisions are completely healed, you can get into a hot tub about 4 weeks after mommy makeover. You should visit your plastic surgeon to make sure that he/she examines you first. Your plastic surgeon may have a different post-operative protocol as well. Best to confer with him/her first.
I tell my patients as a general rule, 6-8 weeks. It can always take a lot longer than that, so it should be discussed with your board certified plastic surgeon once you think you want to start swimming in pools or hot tubs.Thank you for your question!
Many patients require urgent or necessary surgery while they are on methadone. The management of post-operative pain is obviously trickier, but it is possible to work through it successfully. When we are doing elective cosmetic surgeries we have the luxury of being able to plan ahead and...
At 10 weeks post op there are still changes ahead. Swelling is still present and your tummy should even out as swelling subsides. There is some asymmetry in the breasts, but without more information it is difficult to comment on if it is a concern. I recommend speaking to your surgeon about...
It is absolutely possible to do both these surgeries at once. I perform these combinations regularly.Your surgeon will likely send you home with TED hose, and use compression devices on your calves suring the operation to lower the risk of clotting.Best of luck!
