Hello? Im 10 weeks post surgery and I'm concerned about the fold/pleat that is in the middle of my belly! Is it going to flatten? Is my compression garment making it worse? I am also worried that my right breast is dropping much faster than my left! Any advice to help it along? Thanks a million!
Answer: Takes time for things to settle You belly looks very good. Give it some time and it will look even better. Your breasts do have some asymmetry. Although I normally advise patients to wait full 3-4 months for implants to settle, from your pictures it seems like the asymmetry is too noticeable for 10 weeks after your surgery. Speak to your surgeon to get an idea of what to expect.

Answer: 10 weeks post op At 10 weeks post op there are still changes ahead. Swelling is still present and your tummy should even out as swelling subsides. There is some asymmetry in the breasts, but without more information it is difficult to comment on if it is a concern. I recommend speaking to your surgeon about your questions. It is important that you feel comfortable and confident during your recovery.

Answer: Mommy Makeover Recovery Concerns A mommy makeover is a big procedure and does take a long time to finally recuperate from. Most people also go through emotional ups and downs regarding their results and their feelings about surgery. Don’t be too hard on yourself or too critical yet. It’s a little difficult from your photos to tell details, but overall things look pretty good. The crease or fold on the upper abs midline actually is a good simulation of the normal muscle attachment in that area. It should look very natural once you are healed. As for your breasts the right implant does appear a little higher – it looks like the left has fallen/settled but the right has not yet settled down. Most likely when this comes down the shape and the volume will look more symmetric. I am sure you will be seeing your plastic surgeon in the next few weeks. If it has not resolved by then just make sure and point out the difference he/she may want to start some massaging or something similar to help it move into position. Keep positive and be patient!

Answer: The vertical pleat in your abdominal wall should improve as swelling subsides. The 10 weeks there still a substantial amount of swelling after and abdominoplasty. Is this subsides you should see improvement in the vertical crease.

Answer: 10 Weeks After A Mommy Makeover, Vertical Line In Middle Of Abdomen - Why Is It There? The abdominal muscles known as rectus abdominus normally bulge on either side of a midline depression known as the linea alba (white line). The umbilicus (belly button) sits in the middle of that depressed white line. When the excess fat and loose skin are tightened during an abdominoplasty and the belly button is anchored correctly, one sees a depressed white line which gives the abdominal wall an athletic look and is very attractive. Therefore, hopefully that midline depression doesn't go away since it is a positive and not a negative. With reference to your implants coming down at a different rate, this is a very normal phenomenon and, in fact, it would be unusual to see breast implants settle at exactly the same time. It appears your plastic surgeon did an excellent job. Kudos for picking him or her.
