Is safe the antiviral medication Valacyclovir therapy for Mommy makeover surgery in 10 days?

There's no problem taking an antiviral such as acyclovir prior to a mommy makeover. Nevertheless, report all medications you are taking to your surgeon.

In our clinic we do not have our patients take anti-herpes medication unless performing lip injections, however each office has different protocols.  If you wish to take something, it will not cause any problems and either one of these meds is fine.

This medication is safe after your surgery.  Valcyclovir has not been proven to be more effective than Acyclovir, but Valcyclovir is taken fewer times a day which makes it more convenient.  It is worthwhile to discuss this with your surgeon or his office as well.  Best wishes for your recovery!

Ask your surgeon to be sure. This is typically a medication that is not necessary before a mommy makeover. Alternately, it is also typically fine to continue taking it. Your surgeon will need to tell you specifically what is recommended.

That is quite a heavy dose for prevention on a non facial area.  Please discuss with your doctor before continuing.  It is harmless, but most likely unnecessary.
