It should not be necessary to perform a muscle repair with explantation. In the absence of significant capsules, they can generally be left without complications. The scar can be revised but a perfect outcome cannot be guaranteed.

In order to have the best result, it is ideal to complete the entire procedure, which entails a complete explantation, capsulotomy and breast pexy with the least amount of scarring as possible. it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, there is no need for removal of capsules as long as they are thin. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

If you are not having issues with your capsules it is an option to have them removed or leave them behind. The vertical scar can be revised if it is bothersome at the time of implant removal. I encourage you to meet with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation to learn more.

If you have not had implants very long, the capsules will not need to be removed. Your muscles should be fine as well. Please discuss this with your surgeon.
