I had juvederm in my lips on Wednesday night - It is now the 5th day and my bruising has gotten worse! I did have numbing & pain at the bruise area and above the bruise on the lower lip but the pain seems to be gone. The bruise however seems to be getting darker & lower. Is this normal healing? The injecting doctor told me to take some aspirin & apply a warm compress and send more pictures tomorrow (I don't live close to the office). I can cover it will makeup but it still looks scary.. Thanks

Answer: 5 days post op Juvederm in my lips. Should I be concerned about bruising getting worse?
With any cosmetic procedure there is a possibility of complications and nothing is ever considered "impossible". I advice you to have an in-office follow up with the physician that preformed your Juvederm injection. If this physician does not want to have a follow-up with you and you feel like...
I have done Juvederm in 80 year
old and older patients with excellent results; and as long as there is no
current systemic infection you are fine getting the juvederm even while on
antibiotics.
There are no contraindications with the use of Juvederm and people with autoimmune disorders. Speak to your injector about any concerns before treatment. The gel is made mostly of hyaluronic acid which is a product that naturally occurs in the body. Hope this helps.
