Will it be safe to have Juvederm with autoimmune disorders?

Hi my doctors think that I have an autoimmune disorder possibly cfs. I am wanting to try juverderm. Would I be safe to use it or is it contraindicated for people with auto immune disorders.

There are no contraindications with the use of Juvederm and people with autoimmune disorders. Speak to your injector about any concerns before treatment. The gel is made mostly of hyaluronic acid which is a product that naturally occurs in the body. Hope this helps.

Juvederm is largely composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar found in our bodies.  The HA in Juvederm is not known to stimulate immune reactions.  There have not been any reports of worsening of autoimmune disorders following injection of Juvederm.

Juvederm is generally very safe, even for someone that has an autoimmune disorder. Juvederm is so safe because it is largely made up of hyaluronic acid. This substance is already in our bodies naturally, so for it to cause an auto immune response would be highly unlikely. You could also discuss your concerns with a Rheumatologist in your area. I have treated patients with various types of autoimmune diseases with juvederm but always with permission from their rheumatologist. Juvederm is hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance. Cow collagen was the product we used to be very concerned about as a filler and it's immugenicity but it's not in common use anymore.
