Hi and welcome to our forum! The Brazilian butt lift involves harvesting of fat from one or more areas with fat transplantation to another area. No one machine has proved superior to another. Powered liposuction makes the procedure easier for the surgeon to perform, but does not affect the surgical result. Augmented liposuction uses laser energy or ultrasonic energy to semiliquify the fat, making removal somewhat easier for the surgeon. Theoretically it should decrease fat transplant survival. Low energy vaser liposuction does appear to maintain cell viability for transplantation. Graft "take" remains a variable, not related to the instrument type. Surgical skill is also a factor.Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.Best wishes.
Many varieties of liposuction are available including ultrasonic, smart lipo, laser liposuction vaser lipo, power assisted liposuction, and conventional tumescent liposuction. The results depend very little on the method used and very much on the surgeon selected.
Dear kbern,Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
It is unethical to recommend in one’s “opinion” any technology as being superior in another. The scientific fact is that there is no scientific data that shows better volume maintenance with any of these technologies. The vaser study quoting 80% survival is in question based on its scientific merit. First of all, it is impossible to know true percent survival when fat is inserted into fat. Surgeons, researchers and patients all confuse fat survival with volume maintenance and this is a fallacy. In summary, this is an area that is very poorly studied and there are numerous different opinions and you will hear a lot of Bad Information. Select a plastic surgeon who has good before and after volume maintenance and worry less about the technique used. as a surgeon, you can’t buy your way with technology into being a good surgeon.
The survival rate after fat grafting is partially dependent upon the technology used, custom cannulas for fat removal, decantation canisters, Re-injection systems such as the Wells Johnson which I use and recommend, patient health and anatomy and surgical technique of grafting. Water jet or bodyjet liposuction, powered liposuction, and VASER can all be good solutions and have comparable survival rates based on industry sponsored studies. You can read most of those with a grain of salt. The bottom line is that an experienced plastic surgeon will obtain good results for you. Look closely at their before and afters, patient testimonials, etc.
liposuction is still a small stainless steel tube connected to a vacuum pump nothing more nothing less. VASER is simply a secondary treatment with ultrasound done immediately before traditional liposuction. Survival a fat transfer has nothing to do with the name of the device used to power the liposuction cannula. Choose the right plastic surgeon and everything falls into place. Choose the wrong provider and things don't turn out so well regardless of what equipment they use. I have 13 years of medical training and 20 years of clinical experience. My practice is devoted exclusively to liposuction and fat transfer procedures and has for the last decade. You can give me equipment from the 1980s and my results will be the same. Providers tout the machine they just purchased as being the latest and greatest and necessary for high-quality work. It's still just a stainless steel tube connected to a vacuum pump. VASER liposuction when performed by a board certified plastic surgeon that specialized in VASER lipo, the procedure can have 90+% fat survival rate. If you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully,Arian Mowlavi MD,FACSRealself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plast...
Ultrasound assisted liposuction generally referred to as the VASER is but one technique used for liposuction. VASER has the potential for aggressively removing fat. That can be an advantage in certain cases but can also lead to grotesque disfigurement when used by people who are not true expe...
You can definitely remove your butt implants and have a safe subcutaneous injection of fat for your BBL. As for the PMMA, why would you add that to a BBL? It is sometimes used for patients who aren’t candidates for BBL, but doesn’t last long and has risks of complications including product alle...
