I had PRP Microneedling ("vampire facial") done on my face today. The nurse told me to wait until tomorrow morning to wash my face, but it is covered in dried blood. I am really not supposed to wash that off until 24 hours later? Is this normal?
Answer: VAMPIRE FACELIFT NJ In our facility we use a highly concentrated PRP that can look very red. Fortunately, our device separates the plasma into two concentrations and we layer the second, clear, plasma on top. We ask patients to leave the solution on the skin for 24 hours to enhance results. I would suggest washing your face although it isn't usually recommended. Best of luck!

Answer: PRP microneedling after care Hello and thank you for your question. It makes sense to have the PRP's applied immediately after the treatment. The moist environment and the opened pores will help with the absorbtion of nutrients and GF's. Once this has dried out I would remove it gently with NS solution since it can be a good environment for bacterial overgrowth and infection. Best, Oxana Popescu MD

Answer: Is it normal to have dried blood on your face already after PRP microneedling? There is some debate about washing or not washing your face after a vampire facelift procedure. As far as how we do it in our clinic is to have the patient come late afternoon, if possible, and get the procedure done. We inject the PRP then microneedle the PPP. We then leave the Platelet Poor Plasma on till the next morning. So, yes it is okay to have PPP on your face after the treatment is done. It's usually not that bloody though.

Answer: PRP post treatment. I know it looks horrible and you won't be feeling particularly happy about the state of your face at the moment, but the advice that you have been given is correct as the skin underneath is healing and should not be disturbed. Also avoid touching your face to avoid introducing any risk of infection. Be patient - it will improve, but contact your original practitioner if you remain concerned about any aspect of your treatment.

Answer: Instructions after Vampire facial Thank you for the question and posting the photos. The pure form of PRP should not have any red blood cells in it. Its golden yellow color. A little bit of red blood cell sneaking in is not going to make the treatment bad. Microneedling alone can produce some pin point bleeding points based on the depth used. PRP used will reach the deeper layers of the skin thru the microneedled gaps or micro injuries so to speak. The PRP also has anti-infective properties and leaving the dried part on your skin is not going to predispose you to infection. If the dried blood looks too obvious, and after about at least 6 hours and preferably after 12 hours, its okay to gently wash off. There is no generally agreed upon consensus as to how long it should be left on. However long it is, there is no harm. But you don't need to keep it on for 24 hours.
