If the Zoster is of the face, I would wait until the active infection is completely resolved and take anti-viral medication prophylactically for 2-3 days before the treatment.
Hi ktorres12,How long ago was the infection and did the lesions affect the face? We are most concerned about the zones of the face like the cheeks and nose because needling might trigger the infection. If there are still active lesions, you have to wait until these are healed. Otherwise ask your doctor for antiviral prophylatic good for 5 days. All the best,Justin Harper, M.D.
As long as your zoster is treated and not in the area of the face you should be fine. I would probably treat you prophylactically with valtrex to prevent outbreak. Good luck.
Any active infection or immune response such as zoster may affect the healing time and it all depends on your general health to start. But to be on the safe side, I would recommend you wait until this issue is resolved until you get the PRP facial. What's the rush? The PRP treatment results aren't immediate anyway. So take care of yourself first. I hope this helps
