I think I have too much Voluma in my cheeks. Can it be reduced? (Photo)

Charbaut,I agree with the other docs who point out that your cheek structure looks good and you've had a good result from the treatment. 3 months after this type of treatment is a good time to review and compare to baseline photos from before the treatment and then decide how you feel about it.  Good luck!

The photo you provided isn't a close-up, so it is a little difficult to evaluate your cheeks. Based just on the photo, I would say you do not look overfilled. You may be feeling self-conscious simply because you are now used to the way you looked with volume loss in your midface (which is what happens to all of us as we age). If you really don't like the way you look now, the Voluma can be dissolved using hyaluronidase. Give yourself a few more weeks to be sure you really want to reverse this procedure. Consulting your friends for some honest opinions may help you feel more at ease with your new look! If not, finding a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in dissolving Voluma will allow you to return to baseline.

If you are unhappy with the increased volume, I suggest that you meet in person with your injector to discuss your concerns. There are options to reduce the amount of hyaluronic acid. Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I do not think that your cheeks appear over filled in the supplied picture.  That being said you can certainly have the Voluma dissolved with administration of hyaluronidase.  Talk to your injector about your concerns.  Hope this helps.

You can absolutely get rid of your Voluma if you are unhappy with it. An experienced, qualified injector should easily be able to do this, but Voluma can be more difficult than others, so seek an expert if you have any doubt. To ensure you are receiving the highest level of care, seek out a modernly trained, new-school dermatologic surgeon, oculoplastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who is board certified and fellowship trained in one of these "core four" cosmetic specialties. Membership in organizations like the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery help to identify a highly trained surgeon.

Hi and thanks for your question. It is tough to tell from the picture, but your face does not look obviously overfilled. I would suggest an in person consultation with an experienced provider. Reversing or reducing Voluma is possible with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, although it may take a couple of sessions. Hope that helps. 

It is very difficult to tell from this photo if the Voluma injections need to be dissolved.  You should post close up before and after photos to evaluate that type of question.  If you are unhappy you can return to your treating physician for examination and possible dissolving of the product.  Best, Dr. Green

Based on your photos, your results look good. However, if you aren't happy then yes, the Voluma can be dissolved. I would encourage you to take a look at your pre-op photos and compare them to how you look today just to be certain that you want the filler gone.
