Hi I am a 29 year old female. I am 5’4 and weight 265 I lost weight already I used to be 330lbs. I want a bbl and 360 Lipo how much does my bmi have to be or how much more weight do I have to lose? I want to be around 220 that’s my goal weight after the surgery?

Thanks for your question. At my practice, the max Body Mass Index (BMI) limit for a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is 35. The BMI is based on your height and weight. Going by the height and weight you provided, you are at 45.5 and do not meet our BMI requirement. Since you are over the BMI limit, I would recommend consulting with your primary care physician on a proper diet for you to bring down your BMI in order to be able to undergo the procedure. generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a surgery, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

The answer to your question will vary with the plastic surgeon. BMI is just one measure of your fitness for surgery; current health is also important. In my practice, I look for a BMI approximating 30 to lessen the risks of complications during and after surgery and to enhance the results of the procedures. A BMI of 35 is probably the upper limit that a plastic surgeon would consider for this procedure.

You need at least a 50 +++ pound weight loss to have a result from lipo 360/BBL. In Florida max lipo allowed in office surgery by rule is 4 liters or 8.8 pounds! Unless you desire 3-4 surgery rounds?

To be the ideal candidate for liposuction 360 and a Brazilian Butt Lift, you will want to be at a stable weight so that you are able to maintain your results postoperatively. The goal of liposuction and a brazilian butt lift is to reshape your body. Although, you will lose weight secondary to the removal of your excess skin and fat, it will not be enough to lose the 45 lbs you are looking to lose through the surgery. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing.

If you are a good candidate (less than 5L of fat) for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons.  A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring.

After successful weight loss of morbid obesity patients typically have significant skin laxity that makes them poor candidates for body contouring with Liposuction and fat transfer.

Most patients have lost over 100 pounds are going to be ideal candidate for skin tightening surgery. For most patients the first and most appropriate procedure is an extended tummy tuck a.k.a. body lift.

Liposuction and fat transfer will have very little impact when the skin envelope is more than twice the size of your body.

Ideal candidate for both Liposuction and fat transfer have tight skin and modest amounts of excess fat.

He will most likely not be an immediate candidate for either procedure though down the road after you’ve managed to skin access you may very well be able to have a BBL.

I suggest focusing all your efforts on continued success with weight loss until you’ve reached an ideal call and maintain that for six months.

At that point you can start having in person consultations for the local board-certified plastic surgeons to get an accurate assessment and better understanding of various treatment options. You can discuss Liposuction BBL and skin surgery during the consultation but typically patients with loose skin do not get great results from this procedure.
