The initial swelling can last 2 weeks. Your lips do not appear to be overly "duckish" but if you do not like the appearance once the swelling has settled ask for less filler next time you have them done. You can also opt to have a lip flip instead of fillers.
In my opinion, the duckish protruding upper lip is not attractive and because it is unnatural it is a give-away that someone has filler in their lips. Sometimes too much filler is placed in the lip or in the white area above the lip or the filler injected is too thick and stiff for the lips. However, this area commonly swells a bit after filler placement temporarily even when the right amount of filler is placed. Icing the lips and avoiding too much movement for the first 48 hours after injection will help this to go away more quickly. At times however, some swelling and feeling of lumpiness may take one to two weeks to settle down. If your issue still persists after two to three weeks, it’s best to check back with your provider. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm can be dissolved or partially dissolved with a simple injection.
Swelling of the lips post filler injection can take some time to resolve, sometimes 3-4 weeks. If you are concerned, however, I would make an appointment to discuss your issues with the doctor who performed the procedure. If this unwanted cosmetic result does not resolve itself, there are dissolving agents that can be injected to minimize the presence of the filler.
You likely have swelling, which can last for 1 to 2 weeks after lip injections. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 minutes a time, in order to help decrease the swelling. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can always have the treatment reversed with hyaluronidase. Technique is really important when it comes to lip fillers, so be sure to see an experienced cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question, I understand your frustration. Swelling post lip filler can last from 2-3 weeks. If you don’t see a change and are still unhappy with your results within that time you should set up an appointment with your surgeon, to discuss hyaluronidase injections which will dissolve the filler.
Swelling for up to two weeks after lip filler is very normal. Try applying topical Arnica, icing the area and sleeping with your head elevated at night.
Swelling post lip injections if very normal. Depending on the product used, some can cause more swelling than others. I would suggest giving it at least 2-3 weeks before evaluating what the final result will be. If at that time you are unhappy I would suggest meeting with the original injector to either dissolve some of the filler or add if needed. At that time it is also important to make sure you and the injector are on the same page as to what you desired look is.
You need to give the product 2 weeks to settle in. It is a bit too early to tell if the end result is going to be good, or if you need to have it tweaked by having some of it dissolved with hyaluronidase. Good luck to you!
It is quite normal to have swelling post filler. The swelling results from anaesthetic and trauma of the needle. Most patients settle in 2-3 days It can in some individuals take 3-4 weeks sometimesSome types of filler can cause more swelling alsoAntihistamines helps the swelling to go down quickerThe results you have are very good and the lips dont look "duckish"
Yes, the duckish lip component to your lips should still go down. Next time just tell them not to put so much in the vermillion border. Otherwise they look symmetrical and good. In time they will get smaller and look better.
Thankyou for your question.this is a delayed swelling and yes the product can go hard. You need to go back to your injector and he/she will assess and decide if you need antibiotics +/- hyalase to dissolve some of the product. good luck and I hope this helps

I'm sorry that you are distressed by the lumps that have developed in your lips. It is easy for providers to say "no-one will notice"... Fact is, if the patient [you] notice, then it's a big deal. [At least that is my opinion and belief.] Lumps, bumps, granuloma's are listed in my...
