At 8 mpo the scars from my areola reduction, done along with my lift, look awful. They spread and the scars are white and painful to the touch. Will this resolve? Is there anything that can be done to correct the appearance?

Answer: Prominent Scars Hello, Circumareolar (donut/Benelli) lifts and circumvertical lifts put too much tension around the peri-areolar incision, leading to wide scaring. This is typically excentuated by not using post surgical tape for 3-6 months to support incisions. You will need a revision list , converting to an anchor scar, my preferred lift. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in revision breast surgery.

Answer: Scars Thank you for your question. I would recommend waiting until a year has passed and then talking to your surgeon about options to improve the scar. All the best,

Answer: Scar Healing Dear tbella76, Thank you for your question. I tell all of my patients that the final results of this operation cannot be judged until you are 12 months out from surgery. It is important that you are patient with your results. If at this time you are still having concerns, I suggest following up with your Board Certified Operating Surgeon. Best of luck to you!
