I had a breastlift on 1/9. Nurse tells me that is normal for the wound to open on the t intersection. Should i worry about this opening. How long will it take to heal completely. Would i need a scar revision?

Answer: Looking for a second opinion. Open wound after breast lift with implants. Would I need a scar revision? Thank you for your pictures and questions. This is a very common occurrence after a full mastopexy with augmentation. You should follow your surgeon's advice on how to take care of the area so that it heals properly. It is doubtful that you will need any additional surgery but only time will tell.Hope this helps!Dallas R. Buchanan, MD, FACSOwner & Board-Certified Plastic SurgeonVIVIFY plastic surgery

Answer: Breast lift incision Dear malysq12,this type of wound is not uncommon after breast lift. It is usually caused by poor blood flow. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon, follow your surgeon's instructions and keep your wound clean and covered. It can take few weeks or months for wound to fully heal.
