Is it normal to feel hard lumps under the skin after a Voluma injection?

You are early in your post procedure course. Usually the patient sees the start of the neuromodulators, (Botox Dysport, Xeomin), working at day 4.  The fillers usually see some result early, but some modulation continues.  In our office we have patients come back at 2 weeks for their check on their neuromodulator or filler.  At that point, most of the swelling is usually down, and we have an idea of the result.  This may be delayed if the patient has a bruise.  Often, asymmetry can be improved.  If you desire more volume, most practices would charge you, as they have to pay for the product, etc.  Please make sure your well trained, experienced injector knows your current status.Jeffrey J. Thank you for your question. Injections of Voluma may lead to redness, bruising and mild swelling. Tenderness, lumps, discoloration and itching are also side effects that can possible occur. Side effects will fade within 2 to 4 weeks, leaving enviably youthful cheeks. Please review your recovery instructions and progress with your board certified facial plastic surgeon.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  After injection with any dermal filler it is not uncommon to have small lumps or bumps present in the skin.  Over the next 2-3 weeks the filler will absorb water and soften.  Allow your results a bit more time to mature, you should see steady improvement.

filler used to enhance the appearance of the face. After a treatment the area may feel lumpy. I recommend that my patients gently massage the area for 5 minutes at a time, 5 times per day, for the first 5 days. This will smoothen out the product. Please

Yes. What you are feeling is totally normal for 3 days post injection. These "lumps" will resolve with time. It typically takes 2 weeks although every patient heals at her own rate. 

It is totally normal to be able to feel "lumps" where the Voluma was injected. This will resolve on it's own with time. However, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to a couple of months. Be patient. 

Hi There Thank you for your question.Voluma in the chin is usually placed as blobs or depot injection.It is commonplace in my experience to feel lumps in the chin after Voluma. They do settle over a few weeks but I'd see your doctor if they are tender or there is any discomfort.Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini

Fillers to the chin area is a great idea to adjust for a weak chin.  HA like Voluma can feel a bit stiff the first few days.   But,  that should subside in a day or so.   Please post some pictures so we can all see.   I'm sure it's made a big difference.   And no surgery!
