I heard that Voluma can be diluted/mixed with something else, and can then be used effectively under the eyes. What substance is it usually mixed with in those situations? Can BOTH substances be dissolved with hyaluronidase, and it that second substance more easily dissolvable than Voluma?

Answer: Saline or Lidocaine In younger patients with good quality skin and mild to moderate under-eye bags, a hyaluronic acid filler can help camouflage the bulging fat and improve the contour in this area. Voluma is great for adding volume to the cheeks and midface where its bulk can be masked by overlying tissue. Under thin tissues such as the cheek-lid junction or in the tear trough, however, Voluma can end up being lumpy and suffers from the tindle effect. This occurs even when diluted with saline or lidocaine.A thinner filler such as Belotero or Restylane Silk is a better choice in these areas to bring up the depths of the tear trough and to improve the contour of the cheek-lid junction. Thin fillers, such as these, have properties that allow the material to diffuse into the tissues more easily then other fillers — helping the material to spread out. When Belotero or Restylane Silk is injected correctly there is no visible or palpable bulge and no discoloration (kindle effect).See the link below.A detailed examination will help delineate the best option. Consultation with a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery would be the next best step.

Answer: Diluting Voluma For Use Under The Eyes Any filler can be further diluted with saline or lidocaine to decrease it's density. I don't see the point of doing this with Voluma as there are a few other fillers that do the job very well for filling under the eyes. Make sure you see an expert injector.
