I have received 2 Breast augmentations. My second surgery was a Breast lift and implant exchange. However, my scaring is the whole length of my under book almost to my armpit. Is there a way to have a breast lift with minimal scaring? Is there a way to remove my scars from my previous breast lift?
Answer: Breast lift with minimal scarring Dear adriana.arminio, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. Answer: Breast Lift with Minimal Scarring + Different Treatment Options Hi Andriana Arminio, Thank you for your question regarding whether there is a way to have a breast lift with minimal scarring. It would’ve been optimal if pictures were included. This is difficult to answer without pictures or a physical examination. However, I will attempt to answer this question. The length of the scar required for a breast lift is determinant by how much of a breast lift you need. If you need a minimal breast lift, then you only need a small incision around the nipple areolar complex. This is typically an accomplished with either a crescent or a doughnut mastopexy. If you need more of need more of a breast lift, you will need more of an incision like a lollipop or an anchor incision. Usually, the more of a breast lift you require, the longer the breast scar. Therefore, if you have grade 3 breast Ptosis (where the nipple points to the ground and is at the lowest portion of the breast), you will probably require an anchor breast lift. There is no way to completely remove scars from your previous breast lift. However, there may be room to improve your breast lift scars. Scar improvement can be achieved with steroid injections, silicone cream, silicone strips, Fraxel laser treatment, micro-needling, tissue massage, and even surgical scar revision. Please seek an experienced, breast plastic surgeon. Good luck. I hope of answered your question regarding whether you can have breast lift surgery with minimal scarring. Sincerely, J. Answer: Scars Scars cannot be removed, but they can be revised or treated with micro-needling or laser. The amount of scarring needed depends upon how much excess skin is present. Some ladies can have a scar just around the areola. Some may have the areolar scar and the vertical one. And some, like you, need the inferior of anchor incision.

Answer: Not possible to remove, but possible to make them better there is no way to remove the scars but if the scars are too wide or hypertrophic, you may have some benefits from a scar revision to make them thin and less visible. If they are acceptable, laser sessions may help improving your scars.

Answer: Length of scar Thank you for the question. Sounds like you had a full anchor lift, which does a nice job in lifting the breast but the scar can be long. In many cases, we try for a vertical lift but some people really need the anchor. We can revise the scars to make them less noticeable
