Vbeam laser is an excellent modality for patients who have rosacea, blushing of the skin, facial and body telangiectasia, spider veins, redness, post surgical redness, and skin flushing. It is a safe procedure that can be used at varying depths to help treat micro blood vessels in the skin. We also use it in our office for facial skin inflammation, keloids, and hypertrophic scarring. It is an important part of scar therapy. Vbeam can be combined with chemical peels and other lasers, but experience with the treatment is essential. The Vbeam laser does not affect deeper tissue. Schedule a consultation with an expert in Vbeam and you will find it to be an excellent modality for many skin types. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
I typically prefer the Vbeam for treating vascular concerns like port wine stains. However, both of these devices can be effective when in the hands of the right provider. I encourage you to choose a provider who is board certified and experienced in treating these types of marks. If your doctor is well qualified, you should achieve a good result no matter what device is used.
While either of these lasers can be effective in the right hands, I tend to prefer the Vbeam for treating vascular concerns like port wine stains. This device is safe and effective for treating visible veins, diffuse redness and some birthmarks. The pulsed dye laser emits quick bursts of light that target the blood inside these markings to eliminate them. Most patients do need more than one treatment session to achieve their desired results, but the outcome is very long-lasting. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist who offers a wide array of treatment options. Through a comprehensive examination and discussion of your needs and goals, your doctor will be able to tailor a treatment plan that fits your issues precisely.
Hello and thank you for your question. Both of these devices can be excellent choices for minimizing the appearance of port wine stains. I recommend you focus on the experience and expertise of your injector, rather than the specific procedure. This approach typically produces the best possible result, since an expert provider can customize your treatment to your precise needs, skin tone and aesthetic goals.
Vbeam is the most advanced Pulsed Dye Laser Technology, it treats red skin, broken blood vessels, rosacea, and birthmarks. This laser targets the selected area with an intense yet gentle burst of light. This laser is so safe that it’s used for the treatment of port wine stains on infants and young children. It also treats photoaging and sun damage with no downtime.
Thank you for your question,Port Wine Stains respond very well to both Excel V and VBeam laser treatments. The lasers will lighten the stain after multiple treatments, but the difference for some patients would be based on the pigment of the Port Wine Stain, immediate post effects, healing time and tolerance of treatment. VBeam promotes bruising immediately post treatment, there's some discomfort during the procedure for some patients and scabbing can be expected over a few weeks. Excel V will cause dusking of the stain immediately post treatment, some patients voice discomfort and possible scabbing can be expected over a few days. Based on patient feedback both treatments are well tolerated. Discuss with your specialist the benefits of the two lasers, if you've had successful treatments so far then continuing with the VBeam laser would be a good option. If nothing has changed then trying the Excel V laser could be beneficial. Discuss with your specialist if you would be a candidate for the Excel V and review the risks and side effects for your skin type.I hope this helps.Regards,Sheetal Sapra, MD, FRCPC
We use both. I do like the latest Excel V machine as it provides the least discomfort the treatment of port wine stains. I would do the treatment in experienced hands. Best Wishes
