Compression after Brazilian butt lift? Is wearing a faja straight after procedure actually necessary?

Thank you so much for your question. There is a big myth about the girdle and the bbl procedure. But first let me answer your first question. Yes, it is very important that you use your faja immediately after surgery, that will help you to keep your inflammation very low. The myth I was referring to is that using a faja or sitting directly on the BBL can affect your results, although it is not true. The BBL procedure is transferred fat and it is not as easy to shape as you think, the only way your results will be affected would be not having a good post-surgical diet or dieting to lose weight. Nothing will happen to your results, feel confident to use your post-surgical fajas without problem. Any other questions, do not hesitate to consult with your surgeon.

Thanks for your question. I tend to believe that a good compression garment really helps the outcome of the surgery. The intention of the garment should be to compress areas of lipo and hold up the buttock area where fat is injected. I think its very important that the garment is used everyday and only removed when showering for up to 8 weeks. Some surgeons don't not require them, but my patients have been very satisfied with how the garments help the outcome. Always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. I place my patients in a faja immediately after lipo with a BBL to help maintain the butt shape and compress the areas of liposuction. There are fajas which have less compression over the butt area which is perfect for this. That being said, you selected the person who you trust to do this procedure and you should follow what they suggest for after care as opposed to people who do not know your exact case.
