Why did my boobs shrink overnight?

Question

Yesterday I was wearing a 34DD bra just fine and it fit perfectly. I went to bed with no bra. I woke up and went to put the same bra on and it was wayyyy too big. I tried on bras in decreasing sizes finding that I literally went from a 34DD to a 34C overnight. What's going on? I relatively healthy and I haven't been dieting or changing my workouts at all. I've been a 34DD for well over a year keeping these habits consistent and this just came out of nowhere. I'm on non-hormonal birth control 1yr

I have never heard of any thing like this. It would be interesting to see any pictures documenting this change. It certainly would be interesting to examine you but I frankly can't think of anything that would cause this.

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your significant overnight change.  If you have implants in place this may indicate that you have sustained a rupture of both for such a quick reduction in size.  See your plastic surgeon for an in-person evaluation and discussion of results.

Is this related to a prior breast surgery? If so we need more information to answer your question. Otherwise hormone changes and weight loss are the main reasons to lose breast volume. See your primary care physician or ob/gyn if you have not had prior breast implant surgery.Josh Olson MD

You did not give a lot of details in terms of when your surgery took place.  It could be related to swelling or even a rupture, but I doubt they both would rupture at the same time.  You would have to be seen in person.

Wow, that does seem strange. I can't imagine that both breasts could lose over a cup size in the exact same amount in less than a 12 hour period of time. A simultaneous rupture of saline implants with the exact amount of resorption on both sides can be my only viable explanation. You'll have to be seen by your operating plastic surgeon to figure this one out. There's no way the gland can change that much in 12 hours. Hope that's helpful.
