Can pole dancing affect breast augmentation?

I had a silicone breast augmentation about 2 years ago (submuscular) and have just started pole dancing. Can pole dancing affect their placement or can my breast implants shrink from pole dancing??? please help me.

As you are two years post op it is unlikely that pole dancing or any strenuous activity will affect your implants. As your implants are placed under the muscle you will notice the breast move every time you contract your chest muscles. However this movement will not cause displacement issues or for your implants to shrink.

Hello,Thank you  for your question. By two years post op, the position of your implants should be well-set and healed so that regular activity would be fine. I allow my patients to begin resuming upper body workouts at 6 weeks post op. I recommend that you talk with your Plastic Surgeon if you have concerns or discomfort.All the best

Thanks for your question. At 2 years after a breast augmentation everything will be fully healed in palce. Any activity like pole dancing or other exercises will not cause displacement issues or shrinkage of the implants. Take care.

Thank you for your question.  The answer is no, pole dancing won't affect your implants .  There are no activity restrictions other then the first 3 weeks that I tell my patients.

Activities will not cause the implants to shrink, however, you could loose weight which could cause some decrease in your breast tissue. With vigorous activities, your breasts, if not supported, might sag over time. The submuscular placement of implants does help partially support the weight of the implants.

Exercise is great!  Because your surgery was two years ago, you should be well healed at this point.  I would not expect your implants to move or become displaced after this amount of time.  With regard to implant shrinkage, if you have silicone implants, they most definitely will not shrink.  Your breast tissue may change with exercise (any exercise that modifies your muscle mass/fat ratio), pole dancing or otherwise, but your implants will not change size.  If you have saline implants they run no more of a rupture risk with pole dancing than with other exercise.  If you have saline implants and notice a rapid deflation in one side or the other be sure to see your plastic surgeon for an evaluation for rupture.

Given that you are two years following your surgery, it is unlikely that pole dancing or similar physical activity will affect your implants. Your implants are a set volume and that volume won't change with time. You should have some scar tissue around the implants by now which are holding them in position. Your implants most likely move slightly when you flex your chest muscles, but this won't damage them or cause them to move into a bad position at this late stage.
