My compression bra is quite tight. Is there a reason? I'm wearing a medium and I had 400cc gel implants under the muscle and the only time the pain seems to minimize is when I'm lying down but elevated. Is there such a thing as too tight? It's squeezing into my incisions I feel.
Answer: Tight Compression Bra Hello,Thank you for your question. Unfortunately swelling is hard to predict and a post op bra can wind up temporarily too tight. See if you can shift it down and adjust all hooks/straps to their loosest setting. If the band is causing you pain I recommend that you contact your plastic surgeon and ask them about alternatives you can try.All the best

Answer: Compression Bra Too Tight Although most plastic surgeons recommend support for the breasts to increase longevity of breast augmentation/lift, there are no well researched protocols for bra wear. Sports bras may be OK for the first 6 weeks or so. I do not recommend underwire bras, Consult with your plastic surgeon to determine the best path ahead for your comfort during recovery. Answer: How tight is the compression bra supposed to be? Thank you for your questions. A postop bra should be snug enough to offer support and comfort but should not be so tight that it is causing compression and discomfort. Perhaps you need to size up one size. Call your surgeon to discuss and see if you can obtain another bra that is more comfortable.Hope this helps!

Answer: Compression bra Thanks for your posted question. I'd suggest contacting your plastic surgeon if you find the bra painful. Some surgeons don't feel that bras are required at all after BBA surgery but others feel that they should be worn continuously for a specific time after the operation, so there are a wide range of opinions. I personally tell my patients to remove their bra if they find it painful, and we discuss other options like using a different bra or simply not wearing it. However, your surgeon will have a care regimen that works well for their patients.
