No results 5.5 weeks after CoolSculpt Mini. Should I cancel the second treatment? (Photo)

CoolMini is a little different than CoolSculpting the rest of the body. Often, the results are a little more delayed and most people will need between 2-3 treatments to see results. Treatments are spread 6 weeks apart. It is not unusual for you not to see much improvement after 5 weeks. Sometimes, results aren't even that evident until after the 2nd round of treatment. You should make sure your provider is tracking your progress with before and after pictures. CoolSculpting under the chin works best with a skin tightening treatment. Your provider needs to make sure that your issue isn't mostly loose skin. If you're dealing with a loose skin issue then you likely won't see much improvement after the CoolMini. Hello,Thank you for your question. 5 weeks is still a bit early. Results can be seen up to 4 months after the treatments, but commonly 2-3 months. If you want to wait a little longer for your second treatment that would be fine. However oftentimes that next treatment will make a significant difference. Thanks for your question. It often takes a few treatments for the neck to see results. The big question however is , is this fat in your neck or is this loose skin and Platysma muscle. The treatment for skin and platysma muscle laxity is not Cool sculpting. Have your surgeon discuss the options for the loose skin and muscle and show you before and after examples of cases they have done. Otherwise consider a couple more treatments with the cool sculpting mini and re asses once your healed.Good Luck!

You may have some swelling for 3-6 months after Coolsculpting. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend Kybella combined with thermage/ultherapy/exilis for good results. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Coolsculpting Mini is a non-surgical treatment that uses cryolipolysis (or freezing) to reduce stubborn pockets of fat. It works by delivering controlled cooling to a localized area, which then causes apoptosis (cellular death) to the submental fat. Results are permanent but patient are advised to maintain weight. Some side-effects include swelling and numbness, but most patients return to normal activities the same day. Multiple treatments are recommended 6 weeks apart until desired outcome is achieved. 

In our experience, we have found that two treatments is usually required to treat the sub-mental area. We also advise our patients that some results may start to be seen around 3 weeks, but in most cases it can be closer to the 6 week mark. Optimal results are at 12 weeks. The second treatment is typically the most effective, we would highly recommend sticking to the second treatment your provider has recommended for you. Good luck with your CoolSculpting treatments!

So sorry to hear you're not happy with your results from CoolSculpting®. Keep in mind that most people see the best results after a series of treatment sessions, so sticking with your next treatment would most likely be your best bet. With that said, make sure you are working with an experienced plastic surgeon or other professional who is trained and certified to operate the CoolSculpting® or CoolMini™ device to ensure you get the best possible outcome. It's always good to plan on having 2 treatments for any area of Coolsculpting you may be considering.  If you are uncertain about your results thus far, review your before and after photos with the provider that performed the treatment.  Often the second treatment is the more impactful.  CoolMini will tighten the skin to the extent that you shouldn't be left with sagging skin in the area but if your initial problem was more skin than fat, you may not get your ideal result.  Review your pics and your options before you proceed.  Good luck

Results with the coolmini can be variable especially if performed by a center that is not certified. If your center is certified, request to meet with your treating physician to review the results. After this meeting, you can determine if it makes sense to have coolsculpting.y

Coolsculpting reduces the fat in the area by about 20% per treatment. It can be common for patients to want more contouring and if this is the case, a second and even third treatment may suggested to achieve disired results.
Treatments are typically done 6-8 weeks apart. Be sure to be open about your goals with your Coolsculpting specialist.
