What over the counter medication can be taken after CoolSculpting?

There is no
medication you can take that will cause the fat cells destroyed by
CoolSculpting to reassemble or repair themselves. Once the cells have
been sent into apoptosis (slow cell death), they will continue that
process until they can be consumed by macrophages and eliminated
through the lymph system.
If you are
experiencing discomfort after your procedure, you can take any
over-the-counter pain killer. They won't affect your results one way
or another. Please call your board-certified dermatologist if you
have any more questions about your healing process.

There are no medications that will affect the results of your Coolsculpting treatment.  You can use Tylenol or Ibuprofen for pain relief granted you have no allergies to these medications or medical contraindications.  You may also want to try using alternative pain relief methods such as wearing a compression garment over the area or applying a heat pad.  Please consult with your treating physician. 

Hello and thank you for your question.  After a Coolsculpting treatment some people may experience tenderness and discomfort. You can use over the counter analgesics to help with the pain. These will not interfere with the results that the treatment will give you. Hope this helps, Dr. S.

Taking over-the-counter medications will not interfere with your CoolSculpting results. If you need something for discomfort, it's okay to use Tylenol, ibuprofen, or Aleve.

We recommend our patients take any anti-inflammatory over-the-counter medications (Advil and Aleve). These will help with inflammation in the fat cells and will provide pain relief.

Tylenol or Ibuprofen can be taken for any tenderness following CoolSculpting treatments-Our preference is Ibuprofen. We also recommend our patients to wear compression garments and remain physically active to minimize discomfort.

I personally allow my patients to take Tyelnol or Advil.  I do not see how either of these medications would negatively impact your results.  Obviously, you should not take these products if you are allergic to them, but otherwise it should be fine.  I typically recommend some Advil if patients have tenderness.  Best of luck!
