I've always had small breasts and will be getting a breast augmentation in the next couple of months. I understand that some doctors will remove the nipple and reattach it. I like the size and shape of my nipple. But I've seen some "after" pictures and the areola looks stretched on some patients. Thoughts?

Answer: Nipples are not removed during Breast Augmentation Hi. Your nipples will not removed and replaced during your breast augmentation. Your areola will be stretched a little since the implants will stretch all of your breast skin, but usually it is not too much of a change. I think you will have a nice result with your augmentation, but if you are still concerned, then talk to your PS about these concerns. That way, he/she can address them with you before you have your surgery. Best of luck!

Answer: Breast augmentation The nipple is not removed during a breast augmentation. Some surgeons insert the implants through an incision along the lower half of the areola, but there are certainly other options. A common insertion site is in the lower fold of the breast. I recommend that you speak with your surgeon about your concerns to ensure that you both are in agreement where the incisions will be placed.
