I've had a breast augmentation and lift on July 24, 2 weeks ago. The bra is kilking me and where the elastic part goes, it feels like it's bruised badly inside. I opened the last 2 clips to give me room to breath and for my body to feel better. Will this cause my breast to sag? I need them to stay up but can't keep it closed for too long, it stings and really bothers and is so sensitive to the touch.
Answer: Bra Yes, no problem to have buttons open. Also speak with your surgeons. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).Best,Dr. DesaiBeverly Hills Institute for Aesthetic Plastic SurgeryHarvard Educated, Beverly Hills & Miami Beach TrainedDouble Board-Certified Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Post Op Bra Discomfort Hello,Thank you for your question. It is very common for the surgical bra to become tight within the first week or two post op and should fit more comfortably in time. I recommend that you talk with your Plastic Surgeon about options to either adjust the bra you have or switch to something more comfortable while you are so swollen. The idea is to have gentle compression and support but not to cause pain or impair incision healing. All the best

Answer: Breast augmentation, bra painful Thanks for your question. Every surgeon has their own postop regimen so I'd recommend asking your surgeon how long they recommend wearing a bra. Generally I suggest patients wear a bra for 4 weeks but if it is sore they can remove it whenever they wish. However, your surgeon might have different advice.

Answer: Tight bra after augmentation Your bra should not cause pain following surgery. Wearing a looser bra should not impact your results or cause the breasts to sag. It is normal to have some tenderness along the incisions or under the breast after surgery, but if this seems out of the ordinary, please call your surgeon for their advice.

Answer: Pain with bra Thanks for your question. I suggest you follow-up with your plastic surgeon about your concerns. At 2 weeks after surgery there shouldn't be any pain associated with your bra. There are lots of different thoughts about the benefits and risks of wearing a bra early in the recovery period after a breast augmentation, and your surgeon likely has specific instructions about when and how you can wear one post-operatively. All the best with your recovery.
