Smart Lipo months after a BBL?

Question

So I went to my doctor a couple days ago for a follow up after my 5 months of a BBL. I love my butt, he did an amazing job. The only issue is my abdomen, I had fat taken out but I don't think my stomach is as good as I would like... He recommend for me to get smart lipo for a better result, what do you think? How long will it take to see results from smart lipo?

Further smartlipo on your stomach is certainly an option,
particularly if you also have loose skin from your previous surgery. SmartLipo
can help with skin tightening and remove
the fat so you can get down to the level you desire. However, don’t forget that
you need to exercise and diet, even after you undergo Smartlipo; this way,
you’ll be able to maintain your results long after the procedure is completed!

Id suggest VASER or smartlipo, I never found laser to be nearly as good as ultrasound to get find contouring and tightening.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The belly usually displays the most skin stretching after pregnancy or weight gain and needs more than mild amount of tightening that can be achieved with lipo and laser lipo.  A tummy tuck is usually best if you're ready to have one.

Revision liposuction, SmartLipo or traditional, are reasonable options for treating residual subcutaneous fat. However, while treating an area which has already been treated is always an option, repeat liposuction has its limitations. Scar tissue from the initial procedure can limit yield/results and thus expectations should be adjusted accordingly.Any repeat procedures should be delayed at least 6-12 months to allow for adequate healing. Additionally, prior to any revision planning, your abdomen should be reassessed to determine whether repeat SAL will be of any utility. Occasionally, post liposuction, the issue is no longer fat but rather skin excess.As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon.

May be an option after prior liposuction but scar tissue may limit results and expectations. Vaser ultra doin liposuction and/or Thermi Tight radio frequency may be options. An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon who performs these procedures is recommended.

It may be possible  to improve your results after to stomach liposuction with repeat liposuction using smart lipo. At 5 months since your surgery, you may still have some swelling so it may be wise to wait a little longer. Your problem may be retained fat, scar tissue or skin quality or excess skin. This analysis will tell me what is the best procedure. We have both invasive and non invasive techniques. Seek a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation.

Hello and thanks for the question. Smartlipo can be a great option in certain circumstances provided you don't have significant loose hanging skin. At times a formal TT is a better option to address your contour issues. Discuss your expectations with your BCPS.

Sometimes liposuction will leave your abdominal tissues with excess wrinkles and sagging. The best way to take care of this is with a tummy tuck where the excess tissue is excised and the belly skin stretched tight down. The results are usually very satisfying. Good luck.
