The amount of liposuction depends on the persons individual body and starting size. I suggest speaking to your physician if you are concerned. Best, Dr. Emer.
Though highly variable depending on the type of tumescent used about 70% of total liposuction aspirate is usually composed of fat.
Thank you for your question. In most cases 65-70% of the amount of fluid removed will be adipose tissue. Hope that this helps.
Commonly the aspirate is a combination of fat and fluid. Often this is about 70% fat vs fluid. This can vary.
Thanks for your question. It is hard to know how much fat was removed without speaking to your surgeon. Typically 50-70% of fluid removed is fat. When patients have lipo procedures under local anesthetic, more numbing medicine is injected for the treatment. This usually means that more fluid comes out. That also means that fat is less of the fluid removed. I suggest you speak to your surgeon. I always recommend that patients seek lipo procedures from Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. All the best.
Generally speaking the amount of pure fat is between two thirds and perhaps as much is 4/5 of the total volume. Occasionally a lot of tumescent fluid is used to harvest limited amounts of fat and the percentage could be as little as 50% but that is uncommon. This is important to you so that you can estimate how much fat weight has actually been removed to set a maximum target goal once you're swelling has reduced.Good luck and enjoy your results.Jon A Perlman M.D., FACSdiplomate, American board of plastic surgeryABC-TV extreme makeover plastic surgeonBeverly Hills, California
This varies greatly but a simple rule is that generally 70 % + or - is fat. Depends on how much fluid is placed in the area. My Best, Dr Commons
I ask my patients to be off all forms of nicotine for at least two weeks prior to surgery and six weeks after surgery. Nicotine, in my opinion is more of a risk in surgeries where part of the skin is lifted off of its blood supply. Surgeries such as abdominoplasty, breast lift, and facelift ...
It's hard to say for sure from the photos. In general, though, if you're increasing in size during the post-operative period it is reasonable to at least consider the possibility of a seroma. You should discuss this with your own plastic surgeon and if indicated seek a second consultation. ...
Most doctor offices will provide a closed compression garment that you can wear for six weeks. You can probably find online companies that cater to post operative patients and purchase one yourself if necessary.Best wishes.Jon A Perlman MD FACSCertified, Am Board of Plastic SurgeryExtreme ...
