Thank you for the question and the photos. The image morphs from your consultation look great! In my practice, most patients are choosing to have a straight profile (i.e., no significant supratip break or scoop). The choice is personal. Though this type of shape may be more stereotypically feminine, it can also be a hallmark of an operated nose. I advise patients to consider the nasal shape in the context of their other features, ethnicity, etc. and then we work toward their desired aesthetic outcome. Best of luck!
hello thank you for your question and provided information as well...Based on the photos shown and the case exposed, it does not look like you have a supratip, on the contrary I see that you have a good job, but also consult your plastic surgeon about your doubts.
Thanks for the question and photos. Taking your hump down, and shortening the nose will give you a nice, natural appearance. Always ask to see examples of “noses like yours” during your consultation-this will give you an idea of what is realistic.
Hello,The supra tip break allows for tip definition, eliminating the possibility of a plunging tip or poly beak. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons (or AAFPRS equivalent) who specialize in rhinoplasty. Best of luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on yourphotograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. You may also benefit from a cephalic rotationof your tip to turn up your tip slightly and a conservative dorsal humpreduction. Make sure you specifically look atbefore and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performedby your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. Irecommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plasticsurgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Hello,Thanks for your question. In general, a supratip break is considered feminine by most rhinoplasty experts. That being said, the nose needs to fit your personal sense of aesthetic, not your surgeons. Having simulations is the best way for a patient to teach me how they see themselves, and how they would like to see themselves differently. If it is possible, I let them know that we can try to accomplish their goals. If not, it makes it easy for me to let them know that their goals are not possible and why they are not possible.Good luck,Dr. Shah
Thank you for your picture and question...I tell my patients - natural is what got you in my office in the first place. Your pre-op picture is “natural” but clearly you desired a change.Typically it takes 6-12 months to see the final result from a primary rhinoplasty and longer for revisions or secondary surgeries of the nose. Be patient with the healing process and communicate with your surgeon. Your results look good so far.Best wishes
A supra-tip break point always adds a feminine quality to the nose. This combined with a columellar labial angle of more than 90 degrees. It is best to bring in photos of what you would like your nose to look like after surgery to discuss with your plastic surgeon.
A slight supratip break will generally accentuate a more feminine appearance on lateral view. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the frontal and 3/4 views are the ones you see in the mirror and others see when speaking to you. After rhinoplasty, the supratip break, tip definition, and definition of the alar crease/tip junction generally take the longest amount of time for swelling to subside. You will have to be patient for the final outcome for at least 12 months, possibly longer. Keep in mind that most patients are pleased with their lateral profile as long as it is straight or with a slight supratip break.
The supratip break is a feminizing feature to the nose and also visually separates the bridge from the nasal tip cartilages. The digitally altered photographs do appear realistic by an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon. Rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult operations to perform correctly in all three dimensions, so make sure your surgeon can deliver those results as promised. Study your prospective surgeon's before and after rhinoplasty photo gallery to make sure that it is extensive and you like the results.
Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Based on your photographs, you appear to have cartilage asymmetry. This can be improved with rhinoplasty. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patien...
Thanks for this question. It is an important one. Silicone implants in the nose have a higher rate of exchange. This rate of extrusion does not seem to correlate to other parts of the body. I would advise against getting another silicone implant in your nose. Using cartilage from your own b...
After surgical repair of a nasal bone fracture patients usually return at one week for a post-operative follow-up and to have the cast remove. Once the cast is removed patients can resume most normal physical activity with few exceptions and about two weeks after surgery there are no limi...
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. You may also benefit from lip reduction surgery. Make sure you specifically ...
It is impossible to tell if your nose is broken without an examination from a physician. I suggest seeing an ENT within the next week to see if the nose is broken. Within a week, the swelling has subsided somewhat and will allow for a better examination. If it is broken at...
It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. ...
