Based on these photos it seems that genipolasty and chin implant augmentation would produce similar effect in your case. Genioplasty will not produce vertical chin lengthening unless it was a part of surgical planning.

Evaluating the pictures you posted, I can see that you have nice large eyes , a tall nose and central mid-face, beautiful strong and full lips, so even if a sliding genioplasty or a small chin implant adds a little length to your chin, this would be a welcomed change as this will make your face look more balanced and proportionate.

If you're concerned about the height the chin which can make your face look longer then Genioplasty is your best option. Chin implants cannot really shorten the height of the chin. Whether your vertical chin length should stay the same or even be shorter than it is now requires computer imaging so look at those various outcomes and see what you prefer.

A sliding Genia plasty can add or subtract vertical height as well as give it forward projection.I don’t know if you necessarily need to decrease the vertical height because all of your facial length is in your maxilla not your mandible.
