Thanks for your inquiry. The truth is each plastic surgeon does their operations a little different from the location of the incision, the type of tension in the incision, and garments they recommend. I thus believe only your plastic surgeon can best answer this question. My concern of you being on your side would be you rolling onto your belly or twisting at your torso. Good Luck
You can sleep on your side in a fetal position. However, before doing so please ask your surgeon if this is safe for you.
As you know, tummy tuck is a great procedure to get your contour back. We remove excess skin/fat and tighten the muscle. You would be very tight and would not be able to stand straight up for 7-10 days. During the initial 7-10 days, you should be sleeping in a lawn-chair position or sleeping on your side in a fetal position. Most people would have back pain due to the positioning. Talk with your plastic surgeon; he or she can give you a muscle relaxant. Also, talk to him/her whether he/she is okay with you sleeping on the side (in a fetal position). The first two weeks are the toughest after the tummy tuck. I will start feeling better very soon. Best wishes!
Best is to consult your surgeon. Every surgeon follows his own aftercare protocol following tummy tuck surgery. In my practice, I let patients sleep however they like as long as they can tolerate it. I place more emphasis on wearing the garment and advancing their activity.

Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can fly within 2 to 4 weeks after Tummy Tuck surgery. However, car or airplane travel should be avoided to prevent the risk of blood clots in the legs. I wish you all the best.
Seromas and leakage can take several weeks to months to totally dry up. Make sure your plastic surgeon is following you closely.
