I want my husband to drive me home after BRAZILLIAN BUTT LIFT! Of course I will ride in the back seat on my stomach, my hubby recommended us definitely renting a suv so I can lay out! Anyway how recommended is this?! It is a 15 hr drive home! Has anyone done anything similar?! How was it?!
Answer: Too long of a drive! Hello AssZilla. Thanks for your question. In my opinion, a 15 hour drive seems excessive and you should be sure to get your surgeon's approval about your plans. I'm not aware of any of my patients doing a similar long drive. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo.

Answer: Car ride after BBL? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Each doctor has their own protocol. It is very important that you talk to him about your concerns and goals. I recommend my patients not to sit for more than 30 mins. every two hours, for the first 2 weeks, and always with the help of a boppy pillow. If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)

Answer: You should stay close to your surgeon right after your BBL. It’s best to delay any significant car or plane travel for at least a week to 10 days following the procedure. A Brazilian butt lift is a comprehensive procedure that may require postoperative visits and support in the days immediately after your surgery. Many people from out of town stay in a nearby hotel during their initial recovery so they can follow-up with their surgeon if necessary to receive critical care. Traveling long distances should be avoided for at least a week. Although you have the right idea of laying flat rather than sitting in the SUV, you’re taking a huge safety risk by not being able to buckle a seatbelt over you if you lay down. Ideally you should wait a week to make the trip and sit like a regular passenger, but take breaks every hour to get out of the car and walk for a few minutes. This will minimize your risk of blood clots. With a 15 hour trip, it makes sense to split the driving up over 2 days. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Too long I seriously think that would be a very uncomfortable, if not dangerous (because of the DVT risk) trip. 15 hours in a car are not a good idea after any kind of surgery, and you should definitely reconsider your travel plans.

Answer: 15 hour car ride after surgery a bad idea I think having a 15 hour car ride after your BBL procedure is not a good idea. You will increase your risk of a blood clot with such a long trip. Best to stay in the area for 1-2 nights to make sure you are ambulating well before making the long trip. Please talk to your plastic surgeon about your recovery plans.Dr. BasuHouston, TX
